Application of a Mathematical Model for Sludge Reduction in Pharmaceutical Wastewater

Excess sludge treatment is indispensable in sewage plants. This study aims to reduce the excess material from activated and establish a mathematical model. Sludge dissolution rates were calculated by measuring total chemical oxygen demand (TCOD) soluble COD (SCOD) with regard water quality before after pretreatment. Then, reduction effects obtained means of suspended solid (SS) changes. The major impact factors on evaluated, such as pH, temperature, potassium ferrate amount, reaction time, among others. response surface method Design-Expert V8.0.6.1 software was adopted analyze rate, which represents effect. By regulating different constraint factors, model showed that rate reached highest value 54,36% at temperature 21,58 oC pH 4, well dosage 1 mg/g SS time 4,07 hours constant stirring. A for considers dosage, stirring condition established, simulated R2 0,72 indicated relatively acceptable fitting
